With the issuance of its guidelines for the Beijing Olympics, the international Olympic Committee (IOC) permitted athletes and other participants for blogging for the first time during this event.

There was a long lasting demand from the corners of athletes and many sportspersons around the world. They wanted to be allowed for writing on their blogs even during the game-days of the Olympics. The arguments that were submitted in the favor of blog writing were basically centered on the fact that blogs are just online journals of personal thoughts and views and they are not meant for any commercial purposes or any other political purposes in it as far as the athletes are concerned.

People have become immune with most of the blogs around. They all look alike. An element of surprise may hit anyone’s eyes and prompt saying “Wow, I never expected this! “.
