The ‘Trivoli’ software is capable of managing various applicable virtualization technologies. It can also manage the SAN and NAS based storage resources. The network devices acting as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers are some more features that can equally be managed with this software, according to IBM sources.

With the application of “Tivoli Provisioning Manager 5.1.1 (TPM)” companies can now easily arrange for an automation of their data center procedures and processes. These procedures and processes can also be modified by the out-of-the-box automation packages or by creating new ones.

Specific enhancements of this software include ‘Web Replay’. With the use of this enhancement the user is enabled to record the mouse clicks, data insertion, and other processes involved in any task. Once the whole is saved properly, the whole scenario can be replayed automatically and it saves a great deal of time.

The new version comes with a cross-platform patch support that helps customers automate steps in compliance efforts. Customers, with this new version can easily manage patches on Windows, Linux, Solaris, and AIX with the same level of efforts.

Another new feature of this new version software includes its ability to create and maintain application infrastructure maps. This facility is immensely helpful in improving the compliance and remediation, speed up problem solving, and simplifies daily resource management, according to IBM.

IBM has made special efforts in streamlining the installation process for the faster deployment of the software. “Trivoli” is the special brand name of IBM and in the month of November last year the company introduced software under this brand bearing name of “Netcool Customer Experience Management”.

IBM’s new version product will be useful for enabling the mobile phone devices, Internet, and other service providers for managing their accounts on the basis of customer, location, device, time, grouping, and service through a single dashboard. The software basically provides a clearer picture of network usage patterns and customer behavior.

According to the IBM, this new software will begin with its shipping during the first half of this year with the next version of Tivoli Netcool Service Quality Manager, software for administering telecom service quality.
