“Hewlett-Packard” has been successful in developing an innovative technological process that will use recycled plastic for manufacturing the cartridges for its ink-jet printers.
With this technology, the company made use of more than 5 million pounds of old plastic during the previous year. It was on a pilot basis that the company was able to produce more than 200 million such cartridges with this process. “The company now has plans to use twice as much recycled plastic in cartridges this year” said the company executive in a statement.

This technologically advanced recycling process of HP involves a combination of multiple sources and grades of old plastic. The source of plastic includes generally used water bottles and the old ink-jet cartridges. Counting after its first phase of test production of the ink cartridges, the company has been successful in recycling enough plastic to fill more than 200 tractor-trailers.
